Enamel Heart Lockets

These heart lockets are very dainty and sweet with their soft shapes and muted colors.  Lockets developed out of talisman jewelry worn to keep one safe and they came to signify love, honor, allegiance, and commitment; a symbol of mourning, or a window to the past.  Historically lockets have been used to carry miniature portraits, ashes, herbal remedies, poison and perfume-soaked fabric.
