Happy little crabs scuttling across the wall! Haitian Metal Art is a beautiful way of recycling steel drums which were used to transport oil. The metal drums are purchased near the port, in the capitol city of Port au Prince and brought to the neighborhood of Croix-des-Bouquets, the center of the Haitian metalwork movement. Art pieces are then hand-chiseled out of these recycled steel oil drums by Haitian artisans. These delightful sea creatures have been hand painted, as well.
